Tailgate problem
The prev owner of my 85 F250 put a newer tailgate on that looks like crap so I want to change it back to the original. He took off the latch points on the bed where the tailgate latches to and put bolts sticking out so the new tailgate would latch up. I can't find the part that bolts to the upper part of the bed where the tailgate latch engages. Anyone have any suggestions?

I get alot of my parts from the local salvage yard. They always seem to have the parts that are hard to find. I also look on the online parts locator at autozone or advance auto parts to see exactly what I am looking for sometimes. Not much advice, but thats what I do.

Glad you found your stuff. Up here in Pa rust belt the yards don't keep this old a truck . Unless someone turns one in for scrape. So I know of about every truck sitting in a 20 mile radius. Have fun
