Hey Folks... Yeah this don't belong here probably but I need some hard opinions from fellow Superduty folks.. Some of you may or may not know, I'm part of the National Weather Service Skywarn out of CenTex.. I tend to do alot of water rescue, notification, evacuation and chasing.. At the moment my truck only has two fender badges that signify I'm with Skywarn.. I'm thinking of some ideas to further expose myself so folks know who I am.. Grant it some of my other counter parts have gone crazy with stickers.. I on the other hand am very particular when it comes to putting sticks up.. I don't want a cluster screw all over the place.. I've drawn up this idea for ya'lls opinion.. These are somewhat older pics of my truck, before I pulled some stuff off..
But honest opinions
Notes*
The Skywarn Logo will be printed on see through vinyl, the type that has the micro holes so that from the inside you can see through it, but the outside it looks normal..
All the lettering you see on the sides/back will be done on reflective vinyl for maximum visibility during the night or dark spots..
I think it looks good. I am pretty particular myself about putting stickers on my truck, but the way you have the stickers placed I think it looks good.
Thanks.. It wouldn't be possible without my truck thats for sure.. She's helped me ALOT! Plus its nice to save a few lives when an unexpected tornado hits.. Most of the severe storms that surface, you'll always find a spotter and chaser somewhere nearby keeping an eye on it.. 80% of all local activated emergency systems are set by Skywarn chasers/spotters.. We provide a great deal of information to the NWS that they can not see through radar imagery..
Storm what are you doing on the net, you are needed in Marble Falls!! They are getting pounded. Watch out, from what I hear the are some holes on 1431 that would probably swallow your truck. A fried of mine lives on 1431@Cow Creek and he lost his dock and boat yesterday evening.
Believe me! I wish I had my truck right now.. It's at the shop getting some work done on it.. Wont have it back til saturday.. Luckily they gave me an F150 4WD but it is nothing compared to mine.. Plus I have no radios, chains, warning equipment..
Marble was hit extremely hard.. Last I heard we got 6 flood gates open.. We had someone trapped yesterday on a bridge not far from my house.. They brought a chopper in but had to wave it off, couldn't get it in low enough with the trees and heavy rain..
I drove thru the storm on my way to work. I work in west texas around Pecos. I saw several cars thinking about crossing high water. One car was completly under. Wrecker was already on site. I dont know what some people think. I wouldnt think about crossing these in my lifted f150 let alone a car.
Storm, you having any luck with the SCT Livewire (per sig)? I have heard they are nothing but a PITA at this point and need a lot of work. Even the SCT service folks aren't realy focused on them.

She works beautifully.. I guess I was one of the few that got lucky.. I have the occasional loss of stock file but nothing Andy or Ryan @ SCT can't fix..
I like the look, especially the rear view. The side view is so subtle that I'm not sure it conveys the message of who you are very clearly. The notification/evacuation part of your job may require a little more aggresive signage, you obviously know that much better than I. Maybe a Stormwatch "eye" sticker somewhere along the side. The subtle side view is similiar to what you'd use to convey the message " i watch storms as a hobby" instead of "A STORM IS COMING GET THE HE11 OUTTA HERE!!"

Good notion.. I need new pics up but my F250 badges are custom and say Stormchaser instead of stock.. But doesn't help.. Below the badges on both fenders are two Eyes and Skywarn on reflective vinyl.. I'm still working the sides out tho.. Perhaps an Eye on the back doors above the gray.. Thanks!

You don't need stickers....you need strobe lights.
Lol.. Thats in the works too.. I'm putting together the kit now.. Running Double Amber strobes off front lights, then prob do bumper flush strobes on the back like ambulances.. Since I'm getting smoked tail lights, wouldn't work in the reverse light housing.. I found some that are pretty good, you wouldn't know what it was unless they were on.. They sit pretty flush to the bumper, 3 holes.. One for harness, and two mounting screws..
