I just installed a RDS 91 gallon fuel tank tool box combo. I used a KSH marine install kit http://kshmarine.comhttp://rdsalumnium.com
The ksh kit uses the supply and return ports on the box. It came with every thing that I needed to do the install. It uses a switch valve and toggle switch mounted on the dash like a dual tank setup. The instructions were clear and easy and every thing came prewired and idiot pruff. The only wire splice that I had to make was on the sending unit wire. The gauge on the dash works with the axuillary tank. I have put 1100 miles on the truck since the install and am impressed with the function of the products. Just thought that i would post the info in case some one else wanted an axullary tank and didnt want a gravity feed install. The tank was 750 and install kit was 250.
Thanks Hound. And just for the record after you fill it 3 1/2 times you will have as much $$ in the fuel as you do in the tank. Wow I don't even think my credit card company will let me put that much in at one stop. HaHa.
I have the Rds 91 gal fuel and tool as well. It is very nice. I did the old fill the stock tank setup. It cost me about $150 with an aux filter as well. plus the pump has a lifetime warrenty which is nice.
the tank has a filter? what type? We were using little push on ones with the 3/8 connection and they wouldn't last very long at all. They kept plugging up. the one we use now uses stock cummins screw on filters.
It has an inline filter. But I upgraded to a larger inline like on my 88 F150. I havent ran but 100 gals thru it so far. I am also keeping a spare in the truck incase it plugs up.
I just tried to fill my boat, 50 gal tank. Either the pump or the credit card shut off at $100. It wasn't full, but I just couldn't make myself start it again after $100!
Most of the time it is the fuel station that has an auto cut off on the pumps when you get to a certain dollar amount. There was one station in town that had their fuel pumps set at $75. Went there once and couldn't even get a full tank. Since then I go to another station.
