2000 EX. V-10 Brake pedal makes a squishey noise when I press it and release. The brakes work good except for one time in the snow with temps in the 30's down a hill and no brakes. works fine since. (last winter) when this happened the brake pedal made a loud squishey, gurgling noise like they were trying to work but no fluid. level is good and brakes work fine except for the noise. I wonder if its the brake booster going bad or something else. Help?
Mine did the same thing. I took out my brake booster, which is only held on by four bolts, and then took off the white piece that surrounds the shaft. I then took alot of grease and smeared it on the foam that surrounds the shaft and the inside of the white piece that is like a moisture boot between the booster and the inside of the truck. That work for a over a year, since then I had to replace the brake booster (not related) and I did it with all the new parts. I hope this helps.
Anyone have a idea why the brakes did not work last winter in the snow? When I went down the hill it was like I had no brakes at all and I was pumping the crap out of them and trying to hold them to the floor. All I got was some push back like when you are pressing the brakes without the engine running.Help????
Constantly fill the fluid while pumping the pedal, thus flushing the old fluid out the clear tubing attached to the nipple. Start at RR, LR, RF, and then LF. Basic method, or just go to a service center.
Could be a bad master cylinder too. If you havnt had a problem since below freezing temps though, it probably was water in the lines. Brake fluid is hygroscopic , meaning it absorbs moisture from the air. Make sure you keep the master cylinder cap on tight and teh seal is in good condition.
