Degraded Towing Performance
Had a bonehead event happen last summer when trying to put my 36ft travel trailer on a camping site. I inadvertently left the parking brake on while trying to get into a difficult site. I noticed an odor when I got out of the truck - unsure if it was the from the brakes or tranny. Since that event towing performance has been significantly less than desirable. It feels as if the truck is struggling even on flat grades. Local Ford dealer checked it last fall and said nothing was wrong with the transmission - no error codes. I had them flush the tranny as a peice of mind for myself. I believe it's also struggling under nontowing conditions as well. When in overdrive and speed drops to around 40 mph the tach is around 1300 rpm, when gently accelerating at this point it "diesels" and I feel a stuttering rythm. Will be going back to the dealer for further diagnostics. Any ideas from the great diesel guru's out there?

Going in on Friday to get the truck brakes checked. Trailer brakes appear to be ok. Wheels turn freely...repacked wheel bearings on the trailer this year. Wheels turn freely when connected to truck and electronic brake. Just had to replace a blown tire on the trailer on the side of the interstate this past weekend so truck and trailer were still connected. Thanks for the help.

What do you mean it "diesels"? Does it do this when the engine is warm or when its cold only? Does it make a squeaking sound like a water pump going out in a gasser?
