Make sure your front hubs arent stuck engaged. Reach up behind the wheel and try to turn the axle/u-joint it should spin freely. If it doesnt your hub is stuck engaged and you probably have a u-joint going out.
I have the same exact problem. It seems worst when turning to the left. I heard one member say that when dis-engaging the 4wd system that it's not instant like advertised. The point being when dis-engaging, leave in Neutral for atleast 15 seconds then to drive. I tried this and mine still does it. It worked for some, maybe you.
I get my truck back from the dealer today. If they were able to fix or "duplicate" the problem I will post it.
I just this weekend started hearing a noise in the front end when I turn to the right. It happens at about 3/4 of full turn to the right. It is not a clunking noise it more sounds like something is rubbing, but it is quite loud in the cab. I jacked up the front end and had someone turn the wheel while I layed under it and looked for rubbing. I could not see anything rubbing and the ball joints seem tight. My steering stabilizer is shot but the noise is coming from the drivers side someplace. My hubs are disengaged, spin freely and the U-joints seem tight. I almost wonder if the noise is coming from the steering box or the steering shaft, I could not get an exact location on the sound, just the drivers side.
I have an intermitten growling sound from front right side that started when I was making a left turn. I can't see anything wrong and I haven't been using 4WD, could the breaks be draging? I've got about 91k miles and probaly need new breaks anyway, I've also ordered the upgraded rotors. I hope the nose stops or I find something when I've got the truck taken apart to do the roters and breaks. Has anyone been able to fix the noise with something else like bearings?
I know it's not my wheel bearings. The dealer just went through and replaced upper and lower ball joints, wheel bearings and the entire fan damily. I guess they didn't road test it because it still makes the same exact noise. Drives nice but still the same noise. My neighbor said his 96 F250 had that problem and it was his body mount bushing. It had "gone away". I checked the ones I could get to without tearing everything apart but no lock. I tell you what though it sure does feel like it could be it. I can really feel the popping through the body.
I got down there last night with some wrenches just looking for anything that may be going wrong. I found the U bolts to kinda loose. Now they weren't real loose but enough under torque that things could be moving around. So I did my best with a wrench to snug them up. Now I noticed today that it's not nearly as bad. I didn't hit it with a air gun because it was late and my compressor is pretty loud. So I'll give it a shot at the end of business today. Boy kinda scary to think those things are kinda loose. THey must be under some extreme stress. I bet they haven't been checked since my lift kit was installed. ANyways I'll keep you guys posted. Might be a piece of mind for everyone to check those especially if they have been tampered with such as a lift kit. I'd hate to be coming down Cuesta grade and one of those bolts let loose.

Changed the rotors (front friction upgrades) and break pads found the right rear pads worn out and rubbing on the rotor. That was the noise. Funny how it only was intermittent...
