I have no recomendation as far as brands. It depends on what you are going to do with your system, but you could try the stock alternator. Any high amp loads will be taken care of by the new aux battery if they are not continuous. In other words if you only draw high amps when transmitting, and transmitting only lasts 10 seconds at a time, and listening 10 seconds at a time, that's only 50% duty cycle, and the combination of the stock alternator and the aux battery will probably take care of it.
