I am looking to get a 1999ish 450, but I came across a real nice 1999 350 DRW. I am wondering if I could beef up the springs on the 350 to give me a little more capacity. The 450's are rated for 15K, but this 350 is rated for 11.2K. What do you guys think?
You should probably go with the DRW F-350. Some of the guys buying the F-450s have run into some unforseen problems because of the truck's weight, like having to pay commercial insurance rates, having to get special motor vehicle permits in California and stuff like that.
I am expecting that. I run a business, so I have commercial insurance, and DOT numbers, etc. I was just wondering if I retitled it for more, and added leaves if that is basically the difference, or are there bigger brakes, etc. ??

Bigger brakes, frame, tires/wheels, axles, springs etc. It is not a simple conversion.
Yep, there is a huge difference in the stopping ability of a F-450/550 and a F-350......as well as a huge difference in the amount of tire buldge that you get out of the two.
