Motor Swap

I Want To Do Something Different Than Most Mid 90's Pu .how Hard Do You Think It Is To Set Up An Fe Bb In A 96 With A 4.9 If Anyone Has Done Something Like Or Simalar To This Let Me Know How It Turned Out In The End

It can be done. You have to get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator so you can turn the fuel pressure from the tank down to about 6psi from 55 or so, you'll need to re-wire the entire truck almost too, the speedometer gets it signal from the rear end abs sensor not a cable. It won't be the easiest swap in the world, you'll need to fabricate mounts for the engine and trans as well.

*OR* drill out the intake manifold and weld/braze in injector bungs, add a few sensors, and make the FE big block fuel injected, and enjoy some gas mileage.

VW dealers sell replacement "screw in" injector bungs. so converting an intake is even easier. Drill eight holes, metric tap appropriately, slather bung threads with RTV, screw in.

I Heard That That I Can Keep The Stock Frame Perches And That The 390 Mounts Will Match Right Up ? But Someone Might Have Fead Me Bull**** .

Id Love 2 Make It Efi The Motor Is For My 66 T-bird The Motor Is Done In My Garage On A Stand And The Car Is Nowhere Near Done But The Motor Is Not # Matching So I Don't Have To Worry

Go look in the 80 to 85 forum there's a kid in there that did this. He put a 390 in an '85 where a 300 was, he had to engineer new engine perches, he was able to reuse the old 300 perches but he modified them.
