Up here I pay over 30 bucks just for an oil filter from Ford. Thanks for the links. I just ordered a couple of oil filters, a fuel filter kit, and an air filter from 4Kepler's link. Going to save me a bundle. As a bonus they ship USPS to Canada which will save lots on brokerage fees that UPS charges.
Super08 - I picked up a fuel filter kit last fall from the International Trucks shop in Edmonton, at 178st & 118 Ave - was about $43 cash & carry. Just walked in on a Thursday evening, they were open till 8:00 PM.
Thanks guys I got the idea from this thread {about an ih truck dealer}. I was only thinking about case/ih dealers. The parts department is going to have me one in the morning. $38. Man thats nice. They usually have em in stock but a local construction company just wiped them out monday. I guess someone else is changing filters this week.
$46.95 from Diesel Filters Online. Place an order for $150 or more and there's no shipping charge. With the need for oil and fuel filters and Mercon SP, they've got a great price on that, you'll easily reach $150.
I ordered two fuel filters and keep one in the truck... just in case.
The link above is incorrect! Many thanks to Super08 for pointing that out.
Another inexpensive place to buy fuel filters is from a IH Dealer in San Antonio, TX.
$30.69 per filter set. I ordered six sets. I also got a couple of oil filters (on sale I believe) for $17.95 each. Shipping was $12 for the entire order.
ABSOLUTELY do NOT risk your investment of 10's of thousands of dollars to save less than $100/year on cheap filters. Get the right ones, you can find them for reasonable prices in multiple IH dealerships and internet businesses.
Speaking of fuel filters--this was just posted in another thread. Notice that it says participating dealers, but for those that honor it it's a heckuva deal. $27 and some change for the fuel filter set.
