license plate light
On the 2001 escape, is there any trick to replacing the bulbs that illuminate the license plate when the lights are on?
A casual look shows a few bolts holding a bracket on. Is removing these bolts the correct approach?

Those bolts are there to hold on the black piece that covers the trunk and back glass handles. Open the trunk and look at the lenses really close and if i remember right they move to the right and pop out, but check and make sure. They are kinda a pain to get out, but they will come out when you take them out the whole assembly comes out you can unplug that then pull the lens off change bulb then your done. Not being a smarty or anything, but go ahead and replace both while your in there. I just replaced one and less than 2 weeks later the other one went out.
