I just picked up the "new" issue of diesel power (i know im far behind but I just got out of camp) and they have a half arsed article on his truck, but does anyone have more details to what he has done, and what numbers hes pushing? besides the 1600 ft-lbs
I don't know any details, unfortunately, but his truck is sure a beast. He pulled at the Tulare, CA event a few months back and did very well. Used to be a single rear wheel truck, but he's since converted to a dually. Bryan has been around for several years now and he's still up there at the top of the Ford pullers... very nice guy, too.
I personally think the article has a few specs that just don't seem right - such as stock rods. While pushing 1600 lb-ft of torque? I'm not doubting the power numbers, because that truck does run, but on stock rods? Bryan was one of the first to start modifying the Powerstroke many years ago though, and he's picked up a trick or two along the way.
Yes Jeremy, that was my only beef. I pointed that out the first time i read the article. I don't know what he's doing to the rods to make them suport that stress. Did IH produce an engine with billet rods one year?, cause i'd like to have one. Im guessing he is over 600hp on fuel, to be pushing 1600 pounds of torque.
