I've noticed that as long my truck has more than 3/4 of a tank of gas in it, the guage always moves the the 1/4 empty line (Between "F" and half, in case some people call it 3/4 full) when I turn it off. It could be completely full and it will still go there while the truck is off, as soon as I turn the truck on the guage will show how much fuel is in the tank. It only does it up untill that point then it works normally. I dont think there is anything wrong with the truck as it runs fine, im just curious why it does this. It as 2003 edge supercab with the 3.0L.
My gauge reads fine until it gets to a 1/4 tank then it drops and runs out of gas. I don't know if it's the same problem your having, but does anyone have a solution to this?
So the guage never reads higher than 3/4? Or it reads 3/4 when the truck is off?
But when the truck is on, the guage reads the correct level in the tank?
And you don't think there's anything wrong with the truck?
Better have it checked and serviced per the scheduled maintanence, I'm almost sure there's something wrong with your truck.
There's nothing wrong with the truck, this post is 2 years old and I haven't had any issues with the truck at all since I posted or before. I was just curious as to why it drops like that, I'm sure it's just some weird phenomenon with the linkage between the tank and gauge.
Thanks for the help though
