lol...that happened to my inlaws in their nissan. pretty scarey really. doing 100km on the highway then thump... the funniest thing about it was the dealers excuse for it. they said that parking the truck in a heated garage then driving it in the cold would cause the lugnuts to loosen. as if thats not a crock of bullsh1t...
The lugs were not tighten properly. That is a crock the dealer told them. Trying to avoid a lawsuit I* think. They6 bshould just repair the damage to the cars wheels and rim and any other parts damged when it came off.
I have had a few almost come off. Two were on Dodges and once last year my 85 truck. It buggered the rim and the lugnut bolts. But theyt never came off.
When i was racing I had a rim come off my 65 Rambler race car. I didn't even know it came off. til they flagged me to pit. That one the rim just broke right off the outer rim. I was still able to turn the corners. I'm amaazed it was the right front one and did not pull me towards the wall on the track.
