Exhaust Question

I just installed a turbo-back silverline exhaust on my 2003 F350 6.0L PSD. I am actually getting lower MPG with the new exhaust. Any ideas?

thats a common "new exhaust" issue. you keep putting your foot in it to hear how cool that new exhaust sounds...hence hurting your mileage

I would say that the awesome sound you get out of the Silverline, causes the dreaded disease that everyone gets who installs this on the new Fords: Lead foot disease... or at least, a mild cold. This happens because the exhaust sounds so good, that even though we are not stepping on it all the time, we just cannot help ourselves to just "give it a little" to hear the sweet throaty sound upon acceleration. Have fun with it!

Did you disconnect the battery for 10min to resest the pcm?

I never thought about that. Do I have to disconnect one or two in order to reset it?

Disconnect the negative terminal on both batteries and then turn on the headlights to discharge any remaining power. Leave it sit for 10 minutes. Start it and let it idle (with the AC and Radio off) for 5 minutes for the VGT turbo to initialize, then complete the Torqshift relearn strategy in the tech folder.

You Know I Always Did The Batt. Disconecton My Mustangs And Trucks When I Did Any Mod, But Not On My 6.0? I Didnt Think It Would Matter On The Diesel.....
