Well, yesterday wasn't a good day for my buddies new 6.4. We took them to the Ebensburg Airport for some 1/8 mile runs and I took him down 3 out of 4 times in my lightly modified 6.0. I thought his truck would've been quicker than mine. I can't wait to get my banks six gun in now to see how good it will run then!! I also managed to beat an 05 cummins with stacks and a superchips tuner twice! It was definitely a good day for the 6.0!
I would avoid absolutely everything from Banks for the 6.0L. The ONLY exception would be their intercooler.
As Lonewolftx stated, the tuner of choice for the 6.0L is the SCT XCalII tuner with custom tunes--preferably from one of the 6.0L tuner leaders like Matt of LIPD (Long Island Performance Diesel) or Eric from Innovative Diesel.
Turbo, EGR valve, tranny, etc. Do some search's on the site and you'll see the reason SCT is the way to go. The programmer is $375 w/ 3 tunes; street, high performance, & towing.
Ive read about it in the 6.4 forums, Ive been trying to find out more about it, exactly how long and ect. But havnt got that far and nobody really seems to know to much about it. A few guys have said they felt the power increase around 7-8k though.
Dustball, listen to the others, SCT is the only way to go with the 6.0 if you dont want to ruin your motor and tranny

Where do I get the SCT for that $? Sorry for the hijack.
Seat of the pants test driving says the 6.0 would toast the 6.4, I do not know where ford came up with the 6.4 being faster, maybe while towing it is fast IDK.
Could be wrong (sure I'll find out) but I believe the de-tuning is from the factory to prevent employees doing anything stupid in the new trucks.
Once at the dealer at PD it is supposed to be re-tuned (flashed perhaps) to change it to normal tuning.
Or at least thats what I remember reading somewhere in the 6.4 forum.
Well that stinks for me I guess, lol. I guess I'll wait a little longer and purchase an sct for it. Thanks for the advice guys. Oh and all thats done to it right now is just a 4 inch magnaflow kit with no muffler, banks ram air, and a banks high ram intake. It really opened the truck up though. My friend was a little disappointed in his 6.4 considering I bought my 6.0 off of him and did a little work to get it ahead, lol.
