Help!
Hi guys. Just replaced the clutch in my f350 psd tonight. Everything seemed to go together great but it seems like the clutch isnt disengaging It will not shift at all unless the truck is off. Any ideas what could be wrong? Also there was a shim that the flywheel bolts go through. Does this shim go behind the flywheel or in front of it? thanks

yes... check the slave cylinder and check and see if the throwout bearing is still attached to the fork. my slave cylinder just went out last week and was spraying fluid out of it which made it obvious since there was brake fluid on the under side of the truck and all over the slave cylinder. check and get back to us

yes i did have someone depress the clutch. The throw seemed alrite to me but i did have a master cylinder go bad a few months ago. I replaced the master cylinder and the slave cylinder, it worked great for a few weeks and then went right back to the way it was before. Right now i dont have much of a clutch pedal even after bleeding it. Bad master cylinder again maybe?

how much does the clutch petal go down? when i did mine i had the throwout bearing in backward and the petal didn't go down very far. is the petal just dead? does the slave cylinder push against the fork? if it's pushing the fork then your good. then i would see if the throwout bearing is still on the fork

oh yeah and the shim on the flywheel goes on the same side as the bolt head. acts like a washer on the bolts.

When you say you "just replaced the Clutch" do you mean you put it back to gether tonight and it didn't work from the get go, or do you meen a couple of weeks ago the job was accomplished and it is not working now? Also there is a plastic bushing in your clutch pedal linkage. lay on your back and depress the clutch pedal with your hand. you need to be looking at the point where the clutch linkage hooks to the rod that goes through the firewall to the master cylinder. There should be no wiggling, or slop, I don't think it is your only problem, but could make it worse.

The pedal goes all the way down. Its kinda feels like steping on a sponge i guess, kinda hard to explain. The slave cylinder is pushing the fork. Just doesnt shift at all when truck is running....

I just changed the clutch tonight( never took the line off the slave cylinder) and the pedal is very mushy. I started the truck up and it wouldnt shift so no it hasnt work since its been put back together.
