after getting tuner whenever i put the pettle to the metal from 20mph or above my truck will shift into the next gear right away is this the way the tuner works or is something wrong
Nope. Did you get a tune for the BTS VB? Mine is a stock VB and works pretty well. I will say that I like some of the shifting over my old TS and in some of my TS shifting was smoother during some throttle settings. In the end, DP smokes the TS, but what you describe is way not right.
Something doesn't sound right. Mine will down shift sometimes when I hammer it down. I've got the BTS vb w/ DP tunes for the BTS. Shifts great. BTS tuned it to my 35's too.
Well, that is not supposed to happen. When you demand throttle, it should provide more fuel and even downshift depending on the demand. I won't bore you with the shift strategy/rpms on the stock unit but yours appears to do the opposite. No good. You have a problem. Are there any TPS codes? Faulty TPS?
Still not right. Call Jody but he may ask if your throttle position sensor is throwing a code or functioning properly. Are you close to anyone with an AE or scanner?
What shop? Do that yourself and then get an alignment. Yeah, I know, since ya can't align yourself, might as well have the shop do it.
As for the throttle pedal assembly, if there is a signal loss at the top end then it will possibly sense throttle letoff and upshift. This needs to be tested as it will cost some $200 to replace. This may not even be the problem though from what I have seen, the DP tune should not cause this.
A quick check is to disable or remove the DP tune and see how it drives. Cost=$0.0.
well ya but i got new tires and had it align and they said i needed them so ya but ill either look at that or have them look it over while its in there that cant hurt anything.
