My drivers side window will not roll up or down. The passenger side window will roll up and down. I own a 2004 Ford Freestar Van. Can anyone help me with this. Is this something I can fix on my own or will I have to come out of pocket a whole lot of money.
You can do some troubleshooting. Take the door panel off. If you have a voltmeter, you can test the motor wires for voltage as you move the switch. If you have voltage on the motor wires, but it doesn't move, then it's pretty much safe to say the motor needs replacing.
If you don't have a meter, but do have a small battery charger, you can unhook the motor wires and hook them to the battery charger to see if the motor will go up and down. If it doesn't move, then the motor is suspect. If it does move, I would suspect the switch.
