F-880?

F-880?

I went to the junkyard the other day to see if i could find a bed or anything else good and found something a little different. They have the front half of what is marked as an f-880. The frame was cut off just behind the cab. Mty first question is what was it? And my second is will anything off it work on my 77 f-250. The entire cab is in amazing condition. It also has a 477ci motor from the 477 and 5?? family. Is that anygood for anything?

Looks to me after some searching that the 880 is a light dump truck/school bus chassis. LOT bigger than a 250.

But the doors and hoods are the same.

Those were called Super Duty V8's. They came in 401,477 and 534 cube versions. There were also some listed as 475's.These were 477's that were certified for California emission standards.They are strong and reliable but they were built as a heavy truck engine not for performance.
