Code Help

The wife's grandpa has a 97 f-250 w/60,000 miles, truck just died yesterday. It hasn't shown any symptoms, so I assumed it was the CPS. I pulled the codes today, & it came up with #1 p0236 turbo boost sensor circuit performance #2 p0340 cam posisition sensor circuit malfunction #3 p0470 exhaust back presure sensor circuit malfunction. The truck is bone stock. I was wondering if anyone had any idea why it would throw all of these codes, and any suggestions on repairing it. any help is appreciated

Throw in a new cps, clear the codes. If after it is up running again the codes come back then start to trouble shoot. As for the immediate problem I agree with you it is a CPS You can use yours out of your 02 to check..

po470 is your ebp sensor in ft of the hpop, its clogged as well as the tube more than likely, it will cause no performance issue or ever a check engine light, its only function is the activation of the ebp valve in your pedastool, disregard if you dont care or install a new sensor, use the one from the 6.0's,
the 236 is either a map sensor check to see if its grey or black, or its an actual low boost condition.
340 is def cps but normally you have a 344 associated as well once its a no start condition but either way repalce the cam sensor and your on your way

thanks guys! Replaced cps, and runs great. Cleared codes, & rechecked after running. Still showing exhaust back flow sensor error, but the truck runs fine.

Just curious. Why would you use the ebp sensor from a 6.0?

the one from a 6.0 is the exact same overall design with the exception of the plate inside, if you look at your 7.3's it is copper, hense the corrosion and crap build up, the one in a 6.0 is porcelin so nothin sticks to it, however since the recalls on them they mave have updated the 7,3 part numbers already i will check on it
