Every 4th of july my buddy has a massive party and we always have a bottle rocket war on his Motocross track. Well this year I am going all out and I need some ideas for a bottle rocket gun. I came up with a few ideas of a push button light and a barrel that can hold about 10 of them. I need some more ideas cmon you fire work freaks Its your time to shine. Throw in you 2 cents.
Just remember.....If the back end of the pipe is open......DO NOT use line-of-sight to aim down the cylinder from the back......You'll end up looking like the dog from the Little Rascals!....(haha)
Tape one of thous big Punks on the handle bar and have like an arrow quiver on yer back full of rockets with the stick up. Race around the track and try and knock the others off there bikes by holding the rocket loosely so when it fires off it will go where ya are pointing. Gloves, helmets and heavy clothing required. Last man up wins.
Yup.....Mostly 'cause I remember doing it when I was 18 or 19 years old........I remember holding the pipe too close to the underside of my arm and getting a painful 12" scorch mark from the shot........
Not to mention having the "battle" at an area of dirt and rockpiles, and when the rocket blew up next to you, having shards of rock and dirt hit you in the face---good thing I didn't get hit in the eye.........
Yes.....I was an idiot......but I'm all-better now.......(haha)
easiest is to get a pvc pipe and cap and use that as a barrel. tape multiple together for fun. and i usually buy extra fuse and tape/glue them all together in little "packs" so i only have to light one fuse which in turn lights the whole bunch... lol.
The 4th of July has to be the greatest holiday. It brings together two of men's favorite things, alcohol and explosives...if we could just find a way to get naked women worked into it, it would be perfect...
I built a big one last year with 1 inch pvc If i remember correctly But I spent alot of time lighting 6 or 7 at a time and i was thinking of a little propane tank With a striker inside the barrel to light it. But I dont no If I will get time to make that. Right now Im rigging up sparkler bombs and some little dynamites to shoot with a sling shot

I made a double barrel rifle style bottle rocket launcher. I needed a long range precision weapon to combat my buddy with his potato gun.
I made it using 2 four foot sections of old brass water pipe, not sure what size the pipe was, the bigger style bottle rockets slid down them perfectly. I placed the pipe side by side, and held them together with automotive hose clamps. I used bottle caps and plumbers putty to seal the non firing ends. I used the ignitor from my model rocket kit to light the fuses. I drilled a one inch hole in the top of each pipe, near the capped end. I used the cheapo scope from my Ruger 10/22, I held the scope to the gun barrels using a large hose clamp.
I loaded it by sliding a large bottle rocket down each tube. when the rocket reached the end the tube I'd reach my finger and thumb through the drilled out hole and pull the fuse through.
My ignition box had two fire buttons, each button powered a single wire with a gator clip connected to the end. I'd connect one of the clips to each bottle rocket's fuse. When I'd connect the clips I'd clip them as far down the fuse as possible, as close to the rocket as I could get.
I held the gun midway down with my right hand, I'd support it on my right shoulder like a rocket launcher. I held the ignition/fire box in my left hand. If i tilted the unit on its side I could use my right eye to see through the scope, it wasn't a perfect aim but it was pretty close. If i connected the clips far enough down the fuse the weapon would fire almost instantly after the fire buttons were pressed.
If i still had the unit i could provide measurements and pictures. We ended up scraping our toys years ago, after we got paint ball guns.
