I just recently purchased a 1994 Ford Bronco 5.8 Eddie Bauer. Just wanted to get advice from everyone as in what mods (K&N FIPK, Flowmaster, etc) where I can get the best bang for my buck. This will be my daily driver and probably will not be wheeled.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Welcome to FTE limerence. What kind of budget do you have? I cannot speak highly enough of the complete Bassani exhaust system I put on my 96 (ceramic coated headers, high flow Y pipe, and catback). You can hear some clips of it here:

I don't really have a budget at this time (not that I have deep pockets or anything). But something reasonable. If there are mods under 1 - 2k that have a dramatic difference in the vehicle, whether it be performance, suspension, mpg, I'd be open to it.
I dont know where prices are these days, but I think the total exhaust system rework cost me in the neighborhood of $1500. The ceramic coated headers not only lower underhood temps, but were equal length.... so they were of much higher quality than any other header on the market (shorty style). Like I mentioned, my 5.8 went from 15mpg to 17mpg, with no discernible change in how I drove. I was a big fan. It is tough to get more mpg out of these rigs though... its just the nature of the best.

Rich,
Couple of questions and I apologize if they are dumb.
1) $1500, is that you doing the work yourself? or is that cost including installation? can't say that i know my way around an engine so unless its a pretty simple install with nice pictures for a dummy, i may have to have the work done by someone else
2) other than mpg gain, are there any other advantages? over time, just the mpg gain might be worth it alone but wanted to see if there were any other pros in doing the mod.
Thanks again,
John

That was material cost. The Y pipe and catback can be done by anyone, but headers are always a PITA. I jobbed those out. I gained horsepower, as well as mpg. I had the 3.55 rear end, with 31" tires.
