Burnin oil ?

How much oil are fellow FTEs burning in say 1 oil change or 4-5K miles. I just freaked out when i changed my oil, and normally i check the stick every other tank of fuel, i drive ALOTTT. When i was returning my oil to the new bottles i only ended up with about 13 quarts. Last oil change i didnt burn that much, hot weather???

Considering your truck holds around 15 quarts, and you normally can only drain/refill about 14 quarts, you aren't doing bad at all to be 1 quart shy on a 4-5K mile oil change. There's plenty of folks out there who use way more than that. Ford won't fix anything unless you are burning more than 1 quart every 900 miles.

if towing 5er 1 quart in 3k ( I consider 12k#s severe duty so I change oil at 3k while towing) or normal driving (no towing) less than a quart in 6k miles.
