can superchips be programmed?
I have a 92 F-150 with a 302. I recently swapped the stock 3.55 gears out and installed 4.10's with 33x12.50x15 BFG MT. I have a couple of questions regarding a custom programmed chip? First do I need to customize the chip for the new gear ratio and bigger tires or will a regular chip work just fine? Second do I even need to worry about changing any thing to recalabrate for the new gears. I know that the OBDI controls timing, fuel, and spark, but are they programmed with axle gear ratios? I have heard that the superchip is the best chip to buy for my Ford. I just want to make sure I cover all the bases before buying One.

FordDog: My suggestion would be to try a stock chip first. The only thing that a custom program would do, is correct for the speedo reading. The truck should run and shift just fine with the stock program, if not, then we can have a custom program written and added to your chip.

FordDog, I just read somewhere on here last week about how to recalibrate your your speedometer yourself. I think it was in either the Off-Road or Suspension, wheel, and tire forum.
