Tire Foam for engine cleaning
A buddy of mine who does some detailing told me that dealers use Tire Foam (the stuff you spray on and forget ) to clean engine bays. I have wanted my under hood plastic to look all black and shiny again, but don't know if this works. Anybody been here, done that?

yeah, it makes it all shiny for a while, but is a dirt/dust magnet. just watch out for your belts. it may squeal for a minute or too, but will be fine. i used to do it with every wash. have ever put the gel tire shine on your tires, and the next time you washed them looked at how black your wash mitt /rag was. that's how it is under the hood. all the dirt and dust sticks to it. but it looks all shiny for a short while. just my 0.02.

i forgot about the teflon stuff. i have used the dupont tire shine, etc. good stuff. i've been using mequiars (sp?) gel. i make sure to get any excess off, and my tires stay black, not grey, for weeks.
