Showing off our Fords

Showing off our Fords
Last year I went down to LA and joined Ed for one of his pickups limited car shows. It was fun, with a group of men sitting around under a canopy and drinking beer while answering questions from the crowd.
I don't see why we couldn't do that. Lets pick a small local show and give it a whirl. If it works we can join a bigger show. I expect Shortbed and Mechinoid both have trucks that would show well - and there may be others in our group. Jag Red has a 56 car that could also show.
Likely we will have to twist their arms, but it would be a great way to promote our chapter.

Yea, and I would also like one of those heavy diesel supercrews, plus a newer ranger. Show the variety and diversity we have!
Unfinished projects work also - gives the crowd something to ask about. Ed had an unfinished '56 with no floor in the box - answered a lot of questions about the air bag suspension!
We can even have one on a trailer. . . . .

Let me know if you want a nice 9th gen truck (92-96). Mine is in pretty good shape and I consider it to be a gorgeous truck (I love my body style). Either way, it would be fun to go and check out all of your rides.

I like it better without the shell:

Why wouldn't we want such a truck? The idea is to showcase our chapter - the good, the bad, and the ugly. I like the old trucks because someone always says "My grandpa drove one of those", or "I learned to drive in a truck like that".
Others like the hot rods and neat accessories - down in LA it was mostly air bags and how low you could get them.
Yours fits fine with the younger crowd.

Sweet. Well let me know when and where and I'll try to make it if it won't cost me $1000 in gas (freakin' 12mpg, you know how it is). Hopefully in the next couple weeks I will get my winch bumper finished, along with a heavy duty rear bumper, and some magnaflow high flow cats installed. Just lemme know if you want me to show. Good luck on getting us in!

There are several small shows in my area, but there might be a problem with the newness of some the members' trucks. Most require that the vehicle be 1972 or older. If anybody has a show in mind you should double check what the restrictions are. How about a parade? Lots of towns are having 4th of July parades next week. Several of my friends and I are in the Roseville event. Jag
