The Superchip Lip
I read on a previous post that the Superchip sticks out 3/16" from the ecu. Causing the "lip" to naturally vibrate the chip out of place. Sounds like a problem. Is there a fix? I am planning on purchasing a superchip shortly. I thought the superchip was superior to the diablo because it is "customized" to the vehicles box #. Now I envision going up/down a grade, hauling a trailer and my superchip wiggles out of contact, I loose power and UH OH. So how is this lose of contact avoided? or is diablo the way to go?

Both the Superchip and Diablo chip are code specific. The problem can be solved by removing the bracket that holds the ecu and straightening the top half of the lip. Or you can tape the chip in place with 100mph tape and most likely be safe. I will not get into stating which chips are better or worse or similar. All performance chips attempt to accomplish the same objective. They change operating parameters in your engine by altering the settings in the ecu. So, again, the chips are similar just like a Ford Truck is similar to a Chevy Truck. Both companies have web sites and post dyno charts. I provide assistance for this site as well as a couple of other auto related sites. I distribute both and have had equal success with both. Look up the data and decide for yourself.
