ABS brake system

How can I determine if my F-150 has an ABS system without crawling underneath and looking for sensors?

Most here will tell you that if it is a 95, you have it.

Turn key to "On", watch all indicator lights illuminate. ABS will be one.

Look from rear of truck at top of differential.(Sorry) You will see convolute wire harness cover going to top of it.(Bout' 1/2 inch diameter) That will be "RABS" sensor.

MY 95 doesn't have it so there are some with out but not many. I work on these all the time and mine is the only one I have ever seen without RABS frome the factory.

Thanks for all the prompt replies. I forgot to mention that the truck is a 1989. The reason I asked is that I am installing a Prodigy brake controller. The instructions for wiring hook up to brake switch wiring differs slightly, if you have RBS. All other connections are the same.

you are the only one who says they have no rabs.

would love to see a pic of the rail in your truck where it is supposed to be in a 92-92 f150.

I have looked at the rear wiring on my truck. It does have the wiring on top of the differental and it terminates in a module on the drivers side of the differental, so I guess I do have Rabs,(according to scndsin). My question now is, what will happen if I connect the wire from the controller to the stop light switch instead of where I am told to do it in the instructions? Will it disable the Rabs? It is far far easier to do it by connecting to the switch than the other wire.

I have contacted Tekonsha, and sent an email, but apparently they are closed over the week ends.

I have also found the wire other than the brake switch and connected on to it.

The Prodigy is a trailer brake controller. Top of the line.

Thanks forr all the prompt replies, Jerry
