Yes ! Remove cover and put it upside (180º rotation) the float will hang over needle valve by its own weight. The level stated on charts will put the float parallel to gasket surface, in my experience this is a bit high, reduce a little bit and try againg
Thanks Javi2001! Maybe I'll try to do this on the weekend. Lately, it has been hitting over 110 degrees Farenheit. Not the best weather for tinkering. Thank you for all your help and information.
I adjusted the float to specs and still had the same problem. However, the accelerator pump diaphragm was looking rough and perhaps was letting fuel get past it. So I replaced the accelerator pump diaphragm, and now the truck is running smoothly. Thanks everybody for your information.
It is a good thing that I had an extra carb around as I accidentally broke that little black plastic tube that is hooked up to the accelerator pump! The truck runs smooth, but now I have to address the high idle problem I am having. I think something is messed up with the linkage, as the idle screws being backed out doesn't slow it down. It is supposed to hit 110 degrees F. tomorrow, so I'll wait until next weekend. This truck isn't a daily driver, so I don't have to be in a hurry to fix it.
