Vin information
Since I have been looking for a new truck, here is info on the vin I have figured out for anyone who is interested
This is for digits 1-10
1. 1,2,3 Country of origin. 1=usa 2= canada 3=mexico
2. F Manufacturer F=ford
3. T Chassis Line T=truck
4. Z,R,P,N,S GVW for braking system Z=<6000 R=<7000 P=<8000 N and S only apply to f-250 and 350. I think the ratings are actually 5999-6100 but its close enough
5. F,X,W Cab Type F=reg cab, X= xtended cab, W= crew cab Don't know if W is used for supercrew or not.
6. 1,2,3 Series, 1= f150 2=f250 3=f350
7. 7,8 and 0,1,2,3 Drive type 7=2wd 8=4x4 f250ld/f150 only. 0=2wd, 1=4x4 2= Dual rear wheels 3=4x4 DRW
8. L,W,2 L=5.4L W=4.6 2=4.2
9. 508 Pretty sure this is a check digit, only other would be bed length
10. a-z,1-9 Year, starting in 1980=a... w=98,x=99,y=2000, 1=2001, 2=2002 etc
