Transmssion failure
We were having a good time on our vacation last week pulling our 5th wheel with our 05 F350 PSD. All at once the transmission started shifting very hard and the transmission temperature increased to max. I pulled over quickly and temperature came right down. The tow-haul display continued to flash and the truck would not move. Called Ford emergency road service and they sent a tow truck that hauled the 5th wheel to a nearby campground where we left it. Then hauled 50 miles to a Ford dealer. The Ford emergency help was very good. At first they thought it was just some solenoids but after a few days they found the transmission had to be replaced. When they called Ford they were told my build had a transmission recall on it. I don't understand why my local dealer or I were not notified. Now its going to cost them a lot of money to fix it.
The truck and camper are 300 miles from home. Hoping to pick it up Monday. They gave me a loaner car that we sure appreciated but the vacation was ruined. The truck has been great until now.

Ford trannys arent horrible but there are alot of flimsy peices inside
that thing......I wish as a consumer optional equipment was also
avalible for hardware upgrades instead of just fluff anf cup holders....
I would like to have an opportunity to have an HD version of my drivetrain
as an option
