Where are you guys getting that info?

1980 to 1996 F159 all engines are .044

I sure hope he hasn't already set them wrong and put them in

Where are you getting that info? I've got two 95 F-150s sitting in my driveway. The underhood sticker on each one says .052-.056" spark plug gap.

I looked under the hood of my 92 F-250 and found no sticker for spark plug gap, but the Haynes manual says for 1980-1996, all engines, .044.
Makes one wonder which is correct. Call local Ford shop maybe.

I just went out and looked under the hood of my '89 F-150 with the 5.0, it showed settings of .042-.046... hmmmmmm....

I guess a call to Ford is warranted...

I got it from both Haynes and Chilton. but I would do what Ford says. If the sticker says 56 go with that Mi sticker on My 4.9 says .044

I sure wouldn't be the firs mistake in a Haynes book there are a lot of them.

Most of the 94+ MAF equipped trucks I worded on called for 54. Both the stickers on mine say 52-56 so 54 it is .

And as far as both those manuals I think they stoped updating in 92 . I bought new clinton (in 2006) because my other manual only when to 93 (had it that long) anyway they don't even have MAF or OBDII

I got ford manual on CD from local Dealer (freebee)

If there's a range for the plug spec, go with the lowest number...spark plug gaps only get bigger (unless you're losing chunks off your piston, but then you have bigger problems). If you start at the lowest number, it will stay in spec longer. Most every Ford truck from this era I've seen is 0.042-0.046".

I like it when we find a fault with the manuals and we need to get more info to document this. so if every one reading this thread could post what engine they have and the year of truck and the gap that is printed on the sticker under the hood of the truck we will all see what is going on here.

Both trucks in my sig are/were 0.042-0.046". That's a '90 302 and a '93 351.
