i just purchased a old auto body repair tool called a Anchorman made by detroit autobody equipment I have never seen anthing like it before and since it was only $100.00 i had to buy it . It has a air chuck on the bottom plate and with 100 psi air dam near impossable to move it looks like a upside down tee with a sliding hook on the post and a place for a hyd jack looks really cool but i have no idea on how to use it.it does work really good as a anchor point on the garage floor to attach my trailer wench to a pull in dead car any info on this would be greatly apprecated thanks mike ps. my trucks are 97 f250 and a 60 f1oo shortywhich is a work in process thanks agaim
I haven't seen the unit in question, but some units as described were used with the "race track" steel floor-mounted strips.
If you can anchor it to the floor it can be used to pull out body and frame damage. I suggest either traditional chain pots or similar. You don't need the whole "racetrack". Heavy Google searching on body and frame machines will give you ideas.
Basically, you need a way to chain the unit to the floor (or whatever), and then you can use the unit to apply tension at your choice of height. You should also have a way to chain the car to keep it from moving, though this isn't required for gentle sheet metal pulls.
monckywrench thanks for replying the rig i bought looks some what like the one in the picture it has 2 small casters to move it and when you hook the air to it the vacum makes it imoveable. it was stong enough to use as a anchor post for my wench to pull a loaded f250 into my garage up a 10% grade which was kind of neat thanks mike
