I don't think that would be the case. If you reference other compressors, they don't generally double at half air pressure, you might get around 25% gain at the lower air pressure. What are you trying to run at that low of cfm ?

hvlp guns report 50 psi and 9-14 scfm airflow....so I am curious to know how much scfm a 6.8 @ 90 psi compressor has at 50psi, and also calculate 2 compressors piped together. One is a 6.8 @ 90 30gallon tank, and the other is 5.8 @ 90 25 gallon tank. I would like to calculate total available scfm @ 50psi for the combined units.

For what it is worth I tried a couple of years ago to get the bottom line on
what scfm really meant. I never got a clear answer but probably got close.
The last compressor engineer I talked to said it took in a lot of parameters
that you would not normally think about such as temperature, barometric
pressure, hose length etc, etc. I finally just gave up.
