Which Chip?

I am Interested in putting a a chip in my 88 F-250 351 5-speed. I was wondering what performance differance i would notice if any and if it would be worth the cost. I know putting a chip on a mustang 5.0 is pretty useless since there is no noticable differance. Is it the same with trucks? If it is worth it, what chips are recomended.

Which Chip?

Your '88 351 makes 210 hp, stock. The chip will add 21 hp and 35 ft/lb torque. It really depends on your expectations. Figure dollars per horsepower gained. A set of headers will gain about 4 hp, cost $400-$600. True dual exhaust installed will gain about 4-6 hp, cost $300.-$500. With the weight of your F-250, 21 hp would be barely noticable. 4-6 hp will not be felt at all.
