PCM heat sensitive?

Hey guys...been a while since i've been out here...99 f350 with 200K miles been running good for a while. Problem i have is that now after the truck sits in the hot sun for a few hours, truck won't start first try, radio does not work, windows don't work and blinkers don't work. After i get it started though 2nd or 3rd try, everything kicks back on except the radio....truck has to cool a bit before it'll turn back on. I originally thought loose wiring somewhere, but checked everything and all ok.

Could the CPS cause all of this? Someone mentioned that the PCM might be going bad and is somewhat heat sensitive, but i do not know.

Thanks for any suggestions!

I'm guessing it might be the GEM because it's located under the dash and subject to the full heat of the sun. I try and remember to use my windshield sun screen to help guard against the very problem you seem to be having. I'm not sure the GEM can cause a no start, but it does effect the other functions you're having problems with.

I'd start by disconnecting the batteries and letting it sit for awhile. Then (with batteries still disconnected), make sure that the GEM and PCM bulkhead connectors are clean and torqued down to spec (44-53 lb-in for the GEM, I am not sure for the PCM). I would disconnect the bulkhead connectors and look to see that there is no corrosion or dirt in there and snug them up to spec's.

The GEM is bolted to the back of the fuse box.
