hey guys,
I am looking at buying an 1986 Bronco from a lady off one of my other off-roading forums. What I was wondering is did that year bronco ever come with a C4? I thought ford only used C6's in bronco's. I own a 1995 and know these years pretty well but not the 80's ones. If the truck actually has a C6 I'll probably buy it. It has a fuel injected 302 and 33" swampers with cut fenders. It also already has shackles in the front and rear. The lady I'm buying it from used it as a mud truck and wants to sell it now so she can finish her big chevy build-up. She is selling it for $700. I think that's a steal. Any thoughts would be great guys.
They didn't. What she probably meant it has an AOD transmission (if it has overdrive...) if not, it's a C6. Or maybe she swapped it in since it's a 302?
I would put my money on an AOD since I have whats left of pretty much the same truck in my yard. Its got the fuelly 302, is an 86 and has the AOD tranny. The other thing that is slightly weird about the truck possibly having a c4 is that, to my knowledge, they were never offered with a 4wd case, but could be modified to work in a 4wd application. Easy way to tell, see if it has overdrive and it will tell you really quick.
