The same basic p/s pump was used 1965/77 on most Ford cars & trucks.

1. Examine the PS gearbox, looking down on it, as installed in the truck:
a. Does it have 4 nuts with a square-ish aluminum cover on the top? If so , it is a Bendix PS gearbox. This one was used only '65 - '68 or '69, F100- F250.
b. Does it have 2 bolts with an oblong-ish iron cover on the top? This is the Ford Saginaw gearbox, used on F100- F250 from '68 to '79. Very common, and you can specify any year in that range for a replacement.
(Note: Both PS gearbox covers will have a centrally mounted adjusting stud with a locking nut in the top.)
2. Examine the PS pump design.
a. Is it a round steel metal cannister with a narrow pipe for a fill tube? Usually it will have a metal dipstick that pops in and out, with a rubber plug near the top of the dipstick just under the pull coil. If this describes your PS pump, this one was used up to '77 like ND said.
b. Is it an aluminum front body, with a plastic rear section, with a wide mouth for a fill tube, and the rotating plastic cap has the dipstick molded into it? Then it is the one used '78 and later.
The difference between them is in the mounting brackets, the way the PS pressure hose connects to the pump, and in some cases, the offset of the pulley. Otherwise they can both run the same PS gearbox.
I put a '76 PS gearbox to my '66 F-100. I used to have a '76 PS pump when I had the 352 FE in there, because it fitted the '76 brackets and pulleys. For the '76 pressure hose, I asked for one from a '76 F-150 with a 390.
When I put in a 460, I used the serpentine brackets, and went to the '78 style plastic bodied pump because the '76 cannister one didn't fit the aluminum one-piece 460 brackets. For this setup, I ask for the PS pressure hose from a '78 F-150 with a 351M (or a 400 if the clerk can't tell the difference between a 351M and a 351W in his computer).
The return line or low perssure hose is the same for all with the Saginaw/Ford PS gearbox.
Hope this helps!

The SAME overhaul seal kit that this pump calls for, was used on many cars & trucks 1965/77. (Ford; Fairlane/Torino; Mustang; Maverick; Falcon; Bronco; F100/350; E100/350 yadda yadda yadda...)
