i know plenty of people who have put trucks on airbags. depending on how low you want to go, you may want to notch the rear frame to get lower. what do you need to know specifically?
if anyone has put airbags on a straight axle
i wanted to know if there was any problems with the stock axle or if i would have to buy an aftermarket one.
also, knowing what their seyup was would help me to find out what i would need to put mine in the weeds
You can put airbags on the stock I-beams, but in order to get it as low as you seem to want it you're going to need lowering I-beams and air bags. You can get DJM lowering I-beams or AIM (chassistech). AIM is the only place I have found bag brackets for our trucks. http://www.airbagit-store.com/produc....asp&ID=101029 here is a link to the bag brackets at AIM. Some people say the customer service and technical assistance is crap with AIM but I don't know, thats just what I've heard. You may be able to fab up some bag brackets yourself using the bag plates and Pipe to replace the factory coils.

Thats a rather interesting bracket I just cut the top out of the stock spring tower to weld in a flat peice. Used a 3/4" bolt to hold the top bag bracket that I made out of a piece of 1/8" plate. The bottom, I used the same bracket but welded on a peice of angle and a tab at the bottom to put the bolt through. When I didn mine in 01, The only parts I could find were I beams.
nice truck fordguy, i would love to have my truck as low as yours
thanks for the advice on the brackets, thats probably what ill do.
any pics would be a great help.
also, how would you rate the watts link??

I'll try to remember to take some pics of the front when I get it on the lift at work again. I never really figured anybody would want pics of that
The watts link seems to do fine. It kind of limits the suspension travel, but it makes it to the absolute limit where the driveshaft hits the lower crossmember for the four link. This truck was built for double duty. Show and race so it was kind of overbuilt. Definately shows it on a scale. 5100# and runs 12.62 @ 110 mph. I'm actually considering trying autocross in it once I get my hydroboost setup installed hopefully in the next couple weeks.
I am building front bracket setup similar to 545's...I am taking pics and fully documenting because there is someone on here always wanting front lowering info. Heck I might as well build a couple of sets and sale!
