2003 Expedition Engine Pinging?
Hello Everyone -
The great minds behind this site gave me very usefull hints with my last problem - dying battery - that I thought I would have you try this one on.....I have a 2003 Expedition with 44k on it. The first 5 miles of driving seems to produce a very audiable valve ping. I have tried all 3 different octane gasolines to no avail. I took it in to the dealership and they could not recreate the problem, the dealership is about 10 miles from my home. The pinging seems to go away after driving a few miles or so......Has anyone else expierenced this problem and if so what was the final solution......It really hurts to hear metal on metal type of pinging...
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated....

If that is the case - shouldnt the dealership have received and error message on thier computer diag. machine? I forgot to mention that they did "upload" a new program I presume a timing code....But that hasnot helped..
