SD mirror swapping

I have the smaller power paddle mirrors on my '06 F250.I want to 'upgrade' to the tow mirrors, dual swing, power adjust, signal, heated.

Do the tow mirrors have different plugs, or are they all the same plug? Is my 250 pre wired for the signals and such?

I trust the 99 - 07 mirrors all fit.
Who's done the swap?
Where did you get the mirrors (company)?

I got mine from ebay for about $330 shipped. I've got a 99 but your 06 should have the same square plug as what you'd get on the mirrors. You might need to rig up your own switch/wiring for the heater portion of the mirrors.

Here's a link to a great site for installation & wiring info: Eurekaboy's F250 site

Just an FYI.. You do not need a switch for Power Heat!

We found out when we were putting my 08's on that the Heated Mirrors are always on.. If you look in a manual under Heated Mirrors it states the mirrors are automatically heated when the vehicle is turned on.. So to spare you the headache of 3 addtional wires and a switch, just find a Key On 12v power line and tap into it..

I was under the assumption mine came on with the Defroster but when we realized the line was hot period we went looking.. Sure enough in plain view in my owners manual it stated they were automatic..

As for paddle mirrors i"m pretty certain they have a round plug opposed to the square plug.. You will need to run signal/park light wiring for them.

** make sure you run a relay tho if you dont do the switch method!

06 would have the square plug... My 2004 had paddle mirrors (square plug) and already had the wiring for signal and heat there.... My understanding was that sometime in late 04 early 05 they started putting all the wiring there just to simplify assembly versus having 2 different harnesses...

Its EASY to check.. Pull pup and forward on your door panel switch mount plate... Once that cover plate with the switches is out if you reach down towards the front of the door panel and move the plastic water barrier sheet out of the way the mirror harness is clipped into the door right there... In my case the paddle mirror side of the plug had 3 wires>>But the harness it plugged into had like 7-8 wires.

that's good to know... but being the control freak I am, and wanting things my way, I'll be putting in a switch - besides, I don't see any point to heating mirrors when it's 90+ outside - obviously doesn't really hurt them, I just hate waste
