Equalizer Hitch Adjustment

2004 FORD F250 6.0. Trailer is a 2001 Dutchmen 28ft 7000lb. I need help trying to figer out how to ajust these so I do not get the bounce back when the trailer hits pot holes and such. Feels like a rollercoaster. Please help.

Thanks Nick

Sounds like you have the tension cranked up too high. I have that same hitch brand and I used the instructions to adjust if for my '04 F150 and it was just about right. When I moved to an '06 F250 I followed the same instructions and on my first outing with the trailer it was pretty bouncy. I reduced the tension by one chain link per side, which set the truck down about a 1.5" in the rear, and the return trip to home felt much better. It still was not lifting the front end which I guess is most important. My trailer is only 23' and 5,200 lbs. So I would try going one chain link looser and see how it feels.
