Bigger Tires

How big can I go on tires for my 04 excursion 4x4 without having to change my suspension or stock 16" rims?

I have run BFG 295/75/16 A/T KO and I only rub at full lock. I have hear that you can run a 305 but I cannot remember the rest of the tire size. I love these tires and just put the second set. The first had over 110,000 miles on them. I dirve a lot of highway miles and rotate every 5000 miles. I also run 65 LBS all the way around.

P.S Welcome to the group!!

I believe 33's should fit . Depending on tread and if it is an off road tire it may rub slightly during full turning radius.

I just had Michelin LTX MS 285/75 R16's put on. They are D rated vs the Firestone E rated tires I replaced. They ride better and have a Max load of 3305lbs at 65psi., while the E rated tires go 3415lbs at 80psi. Ford currently recommends Load rated E tires.

BFG T/A KO 295/75 16 are 33.2in in diameter
they rub at full lock as noted above.

Mich LTX M/S 285/75 16 are 32.8in. in diameter
No rubbing.

Ben

PS: Forgot to mention I have F250 V code springs on the front which raised my 03 Ex PSD 4x4 63Kmi. about 2in. Not sure that would make a difference though as it appears the nearest point of possible rubbing is the rear fender housing which is vertical in that area.

305-70R-16s on 16x8 rims ... fit well, and rubbed only at full-lock going into a dip (like entering a parking garage).

I'm looking at a set of stock tires/rims from an 06 F250 and wondering if they'll fit and how they'll handle. They are 265/70/17 Load Range E. I'm currently running the stock 265/75/16.
Has anybody swapped "stock" from an F250/350 to an Excursion?
What would this tire configuration do to MPG? Stability?

06 f250-350's have different backspacing, becuase of the coil front end.
the bolt pattern is the same. but i have been told you will need to run a spacer.
