Scion xP
Scion Pickup Concept=Probably another Ranger
And for all of you bashing on the "6969" on my handle, 69 was my college football jersey number, oh yes thats right, not some kid who wants to look cool, it was the number I wore, now you will take that and you will like it.
who says all trucks were made to tow? i bet more trucks are sold that never tow anything to trucks that do, i know this just from driving.
i don't even like the rangers, but to say its worthless is being pretty ill informed of the market.
and they can pull what they need, there are more than plenty of lawn mower guys running around my town with rangers pulling a little trailer with a mower, weed eater and accessories. not everyone who pulls something has a fifthwheel that needs pulled.

X2..............except I still like Rangers.......even if they are 10 years behind the competition.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
But then each to his or her own opinion - if it is your opinion that they are worthless, so be it, but please don't take offense when someone points out the FACT that they are not worthless.
Me, i drive my 86 Fords because they are of a style I like, and fuel injected. I would consider a 85 model as there were some made fuel injected. But not because they are any more "worthy" than any other Ford.
Now about that Scion - without getting into that whole buy American thing, I find the biggest thing I dislike about them is the center mounted instrument pod. I thought we were not suposta take our eyes off of the road ahead?

And yes the number 69 indicates a "fatback" most of the time, were you going somewhere with this? Or do I need to get into what I lift and how fast I run?

Of course, then it could be argured that the F150 is too small also, especialy if yo have a rather large slide in camper. once again, can't find any fault there either. and then, if you have a houseful of goods to move, that F550 makes the F250 way too small. More than that you step up to a big rig, using the same formula that makes any small Ford truck way too small. Where do you stop and draw the line?
The bottom line, factfully there is nothing either too small or too large, you fit the truck to what you need, or want. I drive 1986 Ford trucks, why? Certainly not because they are better built than any other Ford truck, but because I prefer the 80-86 styling, and I will only drive FI vehicals for daily drivers. To me that means only a few 85 and 86 model year trucks with the 302. But I will never say that anyting else is better, or worse, or worthless.
#2 Underpowered. I find no such factful support for this conclusion. Even with the smallest engine available it is more than capable of generating enough speed to get you a speeding ticket on any interstate in this nation. I made it from LA to Seattle in 14 hours, with a half hour stop. That is 1200+ miles, with a four cylinder S-10, why would I ever need the larger V-6 when even the base engine was more than capable of breaking every speed limit in each of the three states that I traveled in? Now if we were in Germany, and on the unlimited sections of the Autobaun, then more horsepower might be very desirable!
Underpowered, facts say otherwise. Now your personal opinion might differ, which I can't find any fault with, but like previously stated, please don;t take offense at people when they point out the difference between your opinion and true facts.
#3 Fugly - well I have to agree I am not a Ranger fan here, but this is really personal taste. Some I think would find the Ranger line good looking, myself I won't give you much arguement here, My OPINION is that the thick A and B pillars make these trucks somewhat less than appealing. Factualy fugly? Absolutly not, but as per a personal opinion yes.
As far as not loosing that much MPG, I have found that the V-6 or 300/6 2 wd F150 can get better mileage than the 4.0 4wd Ranger.
I agree that I feel (my opinion) that the F150 is a better choice for me, I also do not drive a Ranger.
So it really comes down to opinion mostly, with a few facts for good measure thrown in. Facinating that I am here defending Ranger trucks, even though I have never owned one.
In my opinion - David
