The trouble with squirrels

The trouble with squirrels is that they are very destructive...They have chewed a hole in my storage building and knocked everything off of the shelves. This happened over the winter. A few weeks ago, they destroyed the wife's swing by chewing the fabric up and getting the cotton for nests, I suppose. They get on the patio and knock things over and sometimes break things. Now, it is against the law to use a firearm in the city limits and they will not enter a trap, and I have tried rubber snakes. Still, they persist and seem to thrive. They are fun to watch, but only if they are destroying someone else's property.....ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Try critter ritter, or make up your own remedy of garlic and hot pepper flakes. Spread the stuff around, but your up against a hard critter to get rid of.

Get a dog trainer slingshot and hit them with acorns. If you wear safety glasses, you can shotgun the acorns with the slingshot. Though be warned, these rats will drop acorns on you too.

You can buy 1/4" steel shot and a slingshot for under $20.00.

The real problem is unless a cat is feral, they will not mess with an adult squirrel, they put up too much of a fight.

A pellet gun isn't classified as a firearm either, is it?

I got a cure for squirrels for fathers day. Its a Gamo air rifle. It shoots 177 lead pellets 1000 ft per second & alloy ones 1200 ft per second. It came with a 4x32 scope & a lazer site. I just turn up the stereo to cover the noise & shoot them. I've killed a couple already.

Okay- Now THAT'S funny! That's better than my nephews 'squirrel spinner' bird feeder. Kinda re-defines 'flying squirrels'.

I second the pellet rifle!

I take care of them with my SKS or my 20ga. A little overkill? Yes, but it leaves them in smaller pieces for the other animals to clean up

My mother wanted me to get rid of her squirrels (uh huh), so I got my pellet pistol.
One rodent was sitting on a tree stump eating bird seed, and I shot at it. It was like
the old cartoons when a character was shot in the a--, when they jump into the air
rear legs running like buzzsaws. I went out to where the squirrel had been, and found
the last 1/4 inch of its' tail. I'll never make another shot like that again.
