I've been reading alot of posts about chips but have heard nothing negative( not that I necessarily want that )but I want to make an informed decision. I have heard from outside resources about problems with motors because of the chips.
Some of the problems you might here about is when guys install a chip that will give them to much horse power and torque without doing any other mods. For one, if you go with a high output chip your EGT's (exhaust gas temp) will reach a higher more damaging temp. The fix for that I think is a larger exhaust system. Then I think that opens another can-o-worms, exhaust back pressure...I think our engine needs some. Getting rid of the exhaust back pressure will take away from our turbo's efficiency. I am not a expert, just some stuff I try to pick-up around the auto parts store and dealer. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Like I said on the other board I am very happy with the HyperTech. Easy and uninstallable.
Thx,
I'm not looking for tons of torque but would like a little more off the line. I'm looking at the Diablo 54, and i will also look at the Hypertech.
The NAPA that I buy my stuff from is a really good group of people(a girl works there also). They hooked me up with customers that had bought the HyperTech. They even offered to let me drive there trucks. Maybe you can find a parts place like this one. It really helps when you are looking to drop a couple of $$$.
The Big Wheel that I called was informed about the chip but did not have it on hand. I e-mailed Hypertech and they say that they don't have one available for my vehicle yet.
