Basically in a parade to benefit children there was an exhibition burn out by some "door slamers" and one went into the crowd. 7 are dead so far and a lot are in the hospital still.

A senseless tragedy that is bound to give dragracing a bad name. It will take a while to sort out what exactly went wrong, but it will likely come down to poor planning by the event organizers. I happen to be aquainted with the driver involved, and he is basically a level headed guy who likely wanted to give the crowd a good show for the charity event. Evidently the were not supposed to move during the burnout, but something went wrong and the car launched. Pro mods are extremely delicate tempermental beasts with complex clutches and electronics. The team and driver have announced they are retiring from racing, they are devistated by what happened.
My condolences to everyone involved.
