My truck is a dog. Please help.

Hi Guys,
A co-worker borrowed my truck and upon returning it He commented on how sluggish it was. Well, I have noticed that over time she's not the same girl she was when new. I haven't noticed a difference in pulling power, but she is slow on the punch (especially when cold). Any ideas how to freshen her up without cutting her life short? She's a 2001 F-250 SD Super Crew 4X4 with the 7.3L all stock. 164,000 miles.
Thanks, Mike

there is a lot of things you can do to improve performance.
DP tuner, gauges, intake and exhaust
just do a little bit of research here and weigh the options

When is the last time you replaced the fuel filter? How about the aur filter?

Have youi run some injector cleaner through it lately?

I have an 02 that seemed weak. I spent a good bit of time going over things. I bought the AE software. It showed that boost was lacking. I took the IC boots off. I cleaned them up and put them back on with hair spray. Ran AE again and it showed boost back up. Power seems improved. Might want to look there as well.

I think making sure your engine is at 100% tune is better than throwing mods at it right now. Some suggestions for basic maintenance items were listed above. Do those and any others you deem necessary first, THEN add some mods if you desire.

Thanks for the response guys, I keep all filters/oil and fuel changed regularly. The IC boots are new (wacked a cow with the truck last year). Is the AE software something that comes with a tuner or is it seperate? I was thinking of doing an exhaust and tuner mod but I wasn't sure if it would compromise the longitivity of the powerplant.
