New with a question.
My question has to do with the temp I'm seeing for the tranny fluid. I installed the sending unit in the plug on the left side of transmission as per Banks instructions. Driving to work(28 mi) in the morning ambient air temp is 60-70 deg F. Fluid temp reaches about 160-170 deg. Takes quite awhile for temp to rise. Trip home ambient air is 85-90 deg. Fluid temp reaches around 210 deg. This seems kind of high.
I'm assuming(dangerous) that there is no bypass in the trans by the way it takes the fluid to get up to temp. Is this correct? I've purchased a Tru-Cool 4739 with temp bypass but haven't installed it yet. Cooler is mounted just not hooked up.
I read some of the other post dealing with sending unit locations and am confused.
Was my assumption correct about this transmission not having an internal bypass?
Can anyone give me a ballpark figure on how much the factory bed might be worth? It is in excellent shape.
Thanks!
